Creating fun fold cards is so much fun, especially when you are working with the Unbounded Beauty Suite from Stampin’ Up! This mega suite offers loads of options for any project. Today, I decided to use elements from both bundles, Flowers of Beauty and Unbounded Love, to create a unique card.
To begin, I used the Unbounded Beauty designer series paper as my inspiration for the color palette. Petunia Pop was my starting point, and from there, I incorporated other products from the Unbounded Beauty Suite to complement the project. Don’t you just love how the new Glimmer Paper adds that perfect touch of sparkle?
Now, let’s talk about the fun fold part of my Unbounded Beauty card. I started with a traditional fun fold layout but added a twist by creating a double-opening front. The card opens once to the right, and then a second layer opens to the left, revealing the full inside of the card. Every recipient is going to wonder, “How did she do that?”
Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating this fun fold card:
Materials:
- Unbounded Beauty Suite (Flowers of Beauty bundle, Unbounded Love bundle)
- Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper
- Petunia Pop, Summer Splash Cardstock
- New 2024 – 2026 Glimmer Paper
- Coordinating ink pads and markers
- Adhesive
- Paper trimmer and scoring board
- Embellishments (optional)
Instructions:
1. Base Card:
Cut a piece of Petunia Pop cardstock to 8 1/4″ x 4 1/4″. Score at 4 1/4″ to create a card base.
2. Decorate the Front Panel:
Cut a piece of Unbounded Beauty designer series paper to 2 1/2″ x 4″ and adhere to the front left flap on the card base.
3. Inside Panels:
Cut another piece of designer series paper to 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside panel. Adhere this to the inside of the card.
4. Second Layer:
Cut another piece of Basic White cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. Score at 4 1/4″. This will be your second layer that opens to the right.
5. Attach Second Layer:
Adhere the back of the second layer (left-opening card) to the inside right flap of the first layer (right-opening card).
6. Add the Glimmer:
Cut pieces of the new Glimmer Paper to accent the front panel. I used them to create small embellishments.
7. Stamp and Die-Cut:
Use the Flowers of Beauty stamp set to stamp floral images and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. Stamp sentiments from the Unbounded Love bundle onto die-cut pieces.
8. Assemble the Card:
Adhere your stamped images and sentiments to the front and inside panels of the card, making sure to add dimension with foam adhesive for a pop-out effect.
9. Finishing Touches:
Add any additional embellishments like ribbon or gems to complete your card.
This double-opening fun fold card is sure to impress! The combination of the beautiful designer series paper, glimmer accents, and the unique fold will have everyone asking, “How’d she do that?”
