Three Sweet Bugs Stampin' Up cards fanned out together — Love You Lots, Bug Parade, and Hello Friend — made in the June Stampers Club Discovery Free Online Class

The June Stampers Club Discovery Free Online Class was such a fun one — and these Sweet Bugs cards prove that adorable and achievable can absolutely go together. We used the Sweet Bugs stamp set from the Cute as a Bug collection to make three completely different cards, each with its own personality and charm.

Watch the full class video below, then scroll down for a closer look at each card.

Take a peek at what we created, and keep reading to find out how to get the free cutting guide so you can make these at home.

Card 1: Sweet Bugs Cards: Love You Lots

Angled view of a Sweet Bugs Stampin' Up card featuring a bee watering red bell flowers with a Love You Lots sentiment strip on a red card base with embossed texture and berry print designer paper

There’s something irresistible about a little bee with a watering can — and this card plays that up beautifully. The center panel is embossed with a subtle floral texture that you really feel when you hold the card, and the label die frame gives it that polished, layered look. The strawberry and berry print designer paper in the background adds lush garden richness without competing with the image. Of all the Sweet Bugs cards we made in class, this one got the most “ahh” reactions for its softness and detail.

Up close you can really see the coloring detail on that bee — the shimmery gray head, the orange body, the yellow and black stripes. The bell flowers in red pop against the clean white panel. This is the kind of detail that makes someone pick up a card and say “wait, you made this?”

Card 2: Bug Parade

Sweet Bugs Stampin' Up card featuring three marching ants inside an oval die-cut frame with a large red coneflower die cut and quilted diamond pattern designer paper on a red card base

Three little ants on parade — one blowing a trumpet, one carrying a red flag, one just along for the march — completely unaware of the enormous coneflower looming behind them. The oversized die-cut flower breaking out of the oval frame is what makes this card. It creates a sense of scale and surprise that you don’t see coming until you really look at it. This is a great example of how a single playful idea can carry an entire design.

The quilted diamond designer paper in red, cream, and green gives the whole card a classic summer picnic feeling. This one got a lot of “oh that’s so cute!” reactions during class — the ants’ little expressions are everything. It’s also one of the easiest of the three Sweet Bugs cards to recreate if you’re newer to stamping and coloring, since the images are large and simple to color in.

Card 3: Hello Friend

Sweet Bugs Stampin' Up Hello Friend card with a bee and a ladybug reading under a red mushroom die cut, daisy print designer paper, olive green oval frame, and green fringe ribbon bow on a red card base

This card tells a whole little story right on the front. A busy bee buzzing in from the top. A ladybug settled in with a good book under a red mushroom. A tiny snail passing by. It’s pure storybook charm, and the mixed-font sentiment — “Hello” in clean print, “friend” in script — fits the mood perfectly.

The daisy-print designer paper keeps the background soft and sweet, and the olive green fringe ribbon bow adds that handcrafted finishing touch. The mushroom and fork die cuts add dimension and whimsy — so many little details to discover when you look closely. If you’re picking just one of these Sweet Bugs cards to make first, this is the one I’d recommend for a friend who loves a good story.
