Today, I have a super simple 5-minute card to share with you using the Spotlight on Nature Stamp set. Initially, I was a bit hesitant when I purchased this set as it is part of a bundle. I really fell in love with the dies, but I was unsure if I could create simple cards with the stamps. I’m happy to report that I’ve fallen in love with the Spotlight on Nature stamp set as well!

For today’s card, I chose to experiment with my ink selections. I wanted to color in the flowers but keep the basics of the flower soft, simple, and complimentary to the color combination of cardstocks I selected. So, I stamped it in Misty Moonlight ink. That presented a bit of a dilemma because I also wanted to use Stampin’ Blends to color in the flowers, which typically isn’t recommended with an alcohol marker. I decided to go for it anyway, and guess what? It worked like a charm!

Experimenting with your crafting can lead to great ideas. Despite using a non-traditional combo of inks, my flowers stayed the Petal Pink that I wanted them to be. To soften the card up even more, I added a bit of Boho Blue Jute Trim and a couple of the Ombre Matte Decorative Dots.

I can’t wait to share with you tomorrow how I’ve transformed this card on Takin’ It Up Tuesday!

Materials Used:

  • Spotlight on Nature Stamp Set
  • Misty Moonlight Ink
  • Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends
  • Boho Blue Jute Trim
  • Ombre Matte Decorative Dots

Instructions:

  1. Start with a Misty Moonlight card base.
  2. Layer with a piece of Petal Pink cardstock.
  3. On a smaller piece of white cardstock, stamp the floral image from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink.
  4. Color the flowers with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.
  5. Add a sentiment stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and adhere it to the card with dimensionals.
  6. Embellish with Boho Blue Jute Trim and Ombre Matte Decorative Dots.

Enjoy your crafting and remember, it pays to experiment!
